FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 10, 2022) – Cindy Leal has been promoted to Assistant Director of Planning at Morris-Depew Associate, where she’ll assist in the department’s operations and the preparation of land use planning applications and GIS exhibits.
Leal graduated from the University of Florida’s Urban and Regional Planning Master’s Program, where she focused on the importance of boundaries in the emerging field of political planning. Leal has extensive knowledge in economic development, transportation, land use law, conceptual land planning and design, site analysis, and international development.
She was also the recipient of the 2017 Florida Planning and Zoning Association Outstanding Student Award. In addition to being a member of FPZA, she is also a member of the American Planning Association and is currently the Promised Lands Section Treasurer. Over the last two years, Cindy has continued to push her development in planning by receiving her master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and through the publication of two articles titled: Facilitating Equity in Boundary Setting for Planning and Politics, and School Planning & Open Space. In addition to promoting the growth of her profession, Cindy has also been an active supporter in the development of her teammates and allied professionals. She has been quick to recognize and be recognized by her peers.
