A community leader and expert land planner, Tine Ekblad will serve in an advisory role with MDA through the end of the year. Since 2011, Ms. Ekblad has played a critical role in growing the organization’s land planning division throughout Southwest Florida and expanding the firm’s North Florida footprint.
Ms. Ekblad is responsible for creatively leveraging unique property conditions and locations while maintaining and enhancing the public interest to secure entitlements for private development. Currently her project focus is to interconnect public natural resources and private property to establish distinct communities and non-residential development. This is often supported by the conceptual land planning efforts of the Landscape Architecture department and detailed design efforts of the Engineering department. Additionally, Ms. Ekblad has also served as the point of contact for numerous Continuing Services contracts with various municipalities across the State, where she strategically reviews and considers various characteristics to leverage and develop unique place-based solutions.
During her time at the firm, Ms. Ekblad has participated in numerous civic and professional organizations at the local, regional and state level. She currently serves on the Management Committee for the Southwest Florida chapter of the Urban Land Institute and is the Vice President of the Southwest Florida Tiger Bay Club. She also supports the Emerald Coast Chapter of APA Florida and the Emerald Coast Theatre Company in the Florida panhandle.
