FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2018) –With construction well underway for Lee Health’s new 57,000-square-foot, acute care skilled nursing unit on the Gulf Coast Medical Center campus, Morris-Depew Associates has secured approval of an additional planned development amendment that will support the expansion project.
The future plans include incorporating another five acres and permitting 100,000 square feet for medical use and 15,000 square feet for commercial use, along with a centrally located parking structure to support the mixed-use development.
Earlier in 2017, Morris-Depew Associates amended an existing planned development to establish the 75-bed skilled nursing facility, which will provide acute services for patients needing short-term medical recovery and rehabilitation after their hospital stay.
Located at 13960 Plantation Road, the Gulf Coast Medical Center skilled nursing unit is slated for completion in 2019.
