FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2020) – Morris-Depew Associates is pleased to announce Heather Urwiller has joined the team as the company’s newest principal planner. Urwiller previously served as director of planning and zoning for the City of Tarpon Springs, where she played a pivotal role in leading projects through the planning process.
Over her 16 years in the public sector planning field, Urwiller has worked for a number of municipalities in Florida, New York and Massachusetts, including Citrus and Manatee Counties in Florida. At Morris-Depew Associates, she will be working under the direction of Partner and Planning Director Tina Ekblad.
“Heather brings to the firm a unique blend of planning experience and community leadership,” said Ekblad. “Her extensive background in the public sector will be a valuable asset to us as we continue to grow throughout Southwest Florida.”
Urwiller is a member of numerous civic organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, Association of State Floodplain Managers, Florida Floodplain Managers Association, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks-Tarpon Springs Lodge 1719. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and master’s degrees in urban and regional planning and geography from the University at Albany.
